#LifeOfAStudent Post 9 : Home-works

We hate them but we haven't got a choice. They keep piling up and we are forced to start working on them. Yep! I am talking about the much disliked home-works and assignments. #LifeOfAStudent Post 9 is about these devilish creations of our teachers.

Is there any student who likes getting home-works unless its about playing a video-game and writing how you defeated the zombie in the last level or watching a movie and writing about your favourite character. Sometimes, we don't even like the above as home-works.

We use H.W as an abbreviation for Home-Work. But, I guess the abbreviation actually stands for Hard Work. How can a student like to do some hard-work, especially during the holidays, when we don't even want to do it on a working day? :P

The worst part about home-works, projects and assignments is that they are so boring! The usual ones that we get are :
1. Write 5 essays and 10 letters : Believe me, 9 out of 10 topics are dumb and as boring as watching paint dry. I mean we are asked to write long essays on topics like : "Narrate a road-accident that you saw and tell how you helped in finding the culprit". (Dear writer-of-the-book, I am a 14-year old girl, not some super-hero who would be able to track down the culprit.)

2. Make a project on Ancient Civilizations : Funny part is that sometimes teachers would ask us to not copy from the internet. Now, that's funny 'cause ideally you wouldn't find students keeping encyclopaedias on Harappan Civilization or a time machine to transport them back to 3000 BC at home. The topics are so boring!

3. Make a project on pollution : This topic is a favourite of any science or geography teacher. The first topic that comes to their mind will inevitably be pollution(either a particular kind or pollution in general). The students are actually sick of this topic. We're not really helping by making 10-20 projects on pollution in our school life because we all know where they end up!

4. Write the summary of a novel/story : We'll have to go through the book(no matter, how dull the story is) and then try and summarise the book/story in and around 400 words for you to read. That's smart on the teacher's part as they won't have to go through it and they'll still know the story! :P

So, home-works are super boring(especially the ones that we get during vacations). But, we have to do them. You know what's actually frustrating? You work like a dog to complete all the assignments and when you go back to school, the teacher says that she'll take them later. -_-

No matter how much we loathe them, we'll always find one or two on our table each day 'cause they are a part of our lives. :P
