Experience at the stadium :D

Its been a week since I saw a live IPL match at Barabati Stadium(Cuttack) between the Kolkata Knight Riders and Deccan Chargers. What an experience it had been! Watching my favourite players from all over the world playing right infront of me..!!

When we reached the stadium, the clouds overhead had suddenly started pouring. I was almost down to tears. I couldn't believe my luck! th drizzling continued for quite some time. At 8:45 pm the drizzling ceased and I was on cloud nine! The match began...! KKR had won the toss and elected to put DC to bat first. I was completely impressed by the fielding of Kolkata Knight Riders(especially Brett Lee).
Shah Rukh Khan was also present at the stadium! It was a dream come true for me to see SRK!
The Deccan Chargers after 20 overs managed to put up a total of 126 at the loss of 7 wickets. After some beautiful batting by the Kolkata Knight Riders, KKR won the match!! I was just so happy..!!
The best part of the night was yet to unfold! Brett Lee, my favourite bowler from KKR, won the man of the match award!!!

It really was an exhilarating and delighting experience!! Can't wait for many more experiences as this..!!

Cities - Kolkata!

Kolkata is without doubt the City of Joy. I have lived in Kolkata for 10 years since my birth. It's such a beautiful city with such a wonderful culture. And who can forget about the delicious food offered by this city...

The history of this city is also very interesting. The present day city was earlier composed of three villages - Sutanati, Gobindpur and Kalikata. This city has also remained the Capital of India during the reign of the Britishers.
Kolkata today has a huge population. The Bengal's Film Industry is based in this wonderful city. It has lots of attractions for tourists.

It has the wonderful and grand Victoria Memorial, the beautiful Howrah Bridge and so much more to see. Saraswati Puja is also celebrated in this city with great joy. Rabindra Sangeet by the famous Rabindranath Tagore is loved by all in Kolkata. And when you visit this city during the Durga Puja, you will experience joy in every corner of the city. During the Pujas, the whole city is lighted up. Beautiful pandals are put up after months of effort. The idols of Goddess Durga and other deities look beautiful!

And if you are a big foodie, you are in for a treat in Kolkata. This city offers you delicious and mouth-watering dishes. You can have the famous Macher Jhol (fish in gravy) or the Shukto . But if you have a sweet tooth, this city offers you a lot of sweet dishes like Sondesh(a typical bengali sweet), Mishti Dohi (sweet curd) and ofcourse the Rossogolla.
If you love shopping this city offers you a great variety.

The people of Kolkata are sweet and friendly. Bengali, according to me, is one of the sweetest languages that I have ever heard. The people of Kolkata are passionate lovers of sport. We have the beautiful Eden Gardens to host the cricket matches. Football is also a very famous sport in Kolkata.
Kolkata truly is the City of Joy. And it offers so much to everyone who comes here.
Aami Shotti Bolchi everyone of you should travel to this city..!

Kolkata Knight Riders..!

File:200px-Knight Riders new logo.jpg
Most of you are already aware of the Indian Premier League 5 (IPL 5) which is going on in India. This is the fifth season of this mega cricket tournament. Since its maiden season I've been a huge fan of Kolkata Knight Riders which is one of the teams participating in the tournament. It's official theme is করব লড়ব জিতব রে (korbo lorbo jeetbo re/ we will do it, fight for it and win it).

This is the iconic Eden Gardens of Kolkata which serves as the home ground for the team.

In the first three editions of the IPL the performance by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was not up to mark. But, in the 4th edition of the same, KKR came very close to qualifying for the play-offs. As the 5th season starts, I am really excited to see how KKR performs. It has some very experienced and able players. The team is being led by the very talented Indian batsman - Gautam Gambhir.

On 22nd of April, KKR will be competing against Deccan Chargers at Bhubaneswar. I am really excited because I will be there at the stadium as a spectator.. Looking forward to lots of fun and a really good experience..!

This is actually just a thought that I wanted to share with all my readers -

Give it a go...!

When someone asks you - How was your day?, your replies vary greatly with how your day has really been.
When its been that "too good" day, your reply - "Awesome!".
When its that not-so-pleasant day, your reply - "Its been terrible. The worst day ever".
There is no point in lamenting over what has happened over the past. You can't really do anything (unless you've got a time-turner in your pocket).
But, guess what? You can turn the rest of the "bad day" into a good one. No, i won't be recommending a tonic for that!
Sometimes mid-way through the day, you realise that the day has turned out to be a very bad one for you. In this case look at the greener side - you have 12 hours to turn this day into a good one. And once you have decided to do it, there is nothing out there that can stop you.
Its not really that difficult! Give it a go!!

Life is really beautiful...!

On 1st November, 2011, I published a new post on movies that inspire life. I wrote about this wonderful movie called "It's a Wonderful Life". This movie inspires every person who has seen it. It tells us that each and every person is so important. It tells us that when we feel depressed or angry with life, it doesn't mean that life is bad or that we are a failure.
Life has many moments that we cherish. We can't accuse life to be unfair.
God gives you only those challenges which you can handle.
There are so many reasons for us to believe that life is beautiful. Everyday you wake up, a different experience awaits you.
It's not that life is always a dream. Life throws many challenges at us. What we need to do is handle them with patience and realise that it is not the end of the world!!
Sometimes, we do blunders. But making blunders, crying over them and correcting them is probably the essence of life.
I hope that my much talking has been able to tell you all that, life is beautiful... Cherish it!
Challenges, failures are nothing but a part of the life which we live :)
Below are some lines that I found really interesting..
